Fusion of modernity and tradition
Žanin Centre is the first residential and commercial centre in Dugo Selo of this size. It will be built at one of the key locations of this Croatian town, where the numbers of inhabitants are on the rise.
Therefore, there are also requests from the conservation office to blend the structure appropriately into its environment and to fulfill numerous requirements. The project contains elements of modern architecture which blends in with traditional elements. Thus, elements which by its size and cladding resemble traditional wooden houses are incorporated into a modern glass cubus.
At the moment, this is a rather run-down area with derelict houses. This intervention will finally provide a high quality and functional public space, which is of crucial importance for this central position of Dugo Selo
